Rohtak, May 10, 2026: In the rapidly evolving landscape of digital media, students of journalism and mass communication must cultivate not merely academic degrees, but robust creative communication skills. This observation was made by Sunit Mukherjee—Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and Director of Public Relations at MDU, Rohtak—while speaking at DPG Degree College, Gurugram.
Addressing the students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at DPG Degree College, Eminent PR Guru Sunit Mukherjee said that the future belongs to creativity, connectivity, and powerful communication. He emphasized that only those young professionals will thrive in the media industry who possess a passion for learning, the capacity to embrace new technologies, and the ability for effective self-expression.
He apprised the students of the diverse career opportunities available in fields such as public relations, corporate communication, advertising, event management, content writing, print media, electronic media, and digital media. Furthermore, he underscored the importance of strengthening one's command over language and developing technical media skills.
Sunit Mukherjee noted that the nature of media is undergoing rapid transformation today. He highlighted that there are immense opportunities for young people in areas such as graphics, multimedia animation, and digital content creation. He advised the students to look beyond their prescribed syllabus—encouraging them to read supplementary books, enhance their general knowledge, and stay abreast of current affairs. Mukherjee also urged the students to Communicate with Confidence & Courage, sharing Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore's poem~ Where the Mind is Without Fear.
Also present at the event were the Head of the Department, Dr. Neetu Sangwan, along with faculty members Shaukit Khan and Neelam Paibuli.
