Rohtak, March 7, 2026: A controversy has erupted over popular rapper Badshah's recently released song ‘Tateeree’.
MDU’s former Director of Public Relations, renowned media expert, and communication skills specialist Sunit Mukherjee has called some of the song's lyrics and scenes objectionable, demanding the immediate withdrawal of this song.
Sunit Mukherjee said that while the song's melody is catchy, some of its scenes and lyrics send a negative message to society. He particularly objected to the scene in which schoolgirls are seen throwing away their school bags. He said that in Haryana, education is considered the greatest means of empowerment for girls, and such a scene promotes regressive thinking.
He also said that the song's depiction of girls dancing on the school campus and on the roof of a Haryana Roadways bus is inappropriate. Furthermore, some of the song's double-meaning lyrics and references to drugs do not send a positive message to society.
PR Guru Sunit Mukherjee appealed to singer Badshah to remove the objectionable parts of the song and reshoot it, respecting the sentiments of society. He said that as popular artists, they have a huge responsibility towards society, and therefore, they should adopt a sensitive and responsible approach.
