PPCB to Organise Workshop on “Driving Circularity” at CICU on Aug 27

Ludhiana, August 25, 2026: The Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), Zonal Office-1, Ludhiana, will organise a workshop on “Driving Circularity: Advancing Waste Management through EPR and Resource Recovery” on August 27, at the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Phase-5, Focal Point, Ludhiana. The workshop is being organised as a pre-event activity in connection with the 10th World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2026, with the objective of promoting awareness and adoption of circular economy practices among industries and other stakeholders.
The programme will focus on key areas including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), waste reduction, resource recovery, recycling, sustainable waste-management practices and effective utilisation of resources from waste. The workshop will also provide an opportunity for industries, registered recyclers and other stakeholders to understand practical approaches towards compliance and implementation of circularity principles. The workshop will be graced by R. K. Ratra, Senior Environmental Engineer, PPCB, and Anoop Verma, Professor, CEE, as the Chief Guests/Key Dignitaries. Their presence will provide valuable insights into the evolving framework of sustainable waste management, EPR and resource recovery.
The interaction is expected to facilitate meaningful discussions between PPCB officials, industrial representatives, recyclers and other stakeholders, enabling participants to understand emerging opportunities in waste valorisation and circular economy while strengthening environmental compliance. CICU has welcomed the initiative and expressed its commitment to supporting programmes that help industry move towards cleaner production, responsible resource utilisation and sustainable industrial growth.
