Power Supply to Remain Disrupted in Parts of Dharamshala on July 5 and 6
Residents in several parts of Dharamshala will experience scheduled power outages on July 5 and 6 due to maintenance and infrastructure upgrade works being carried out by the Electricity Department.
Dharamshala, July 4, 2026: Residents in several parts of Dharamshala will experience scheduled power outages on July 5 and 6 due to maintenance and infrastructure upgrade works being carried out by the Electricity Department.
Abhishek Katoch, Assistant Engineer, Electrical Sub-Division Dharamshala No. 1, said that on July 5, power supply will remain partially suspended from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Civil Bazaar, Charan Khad, BSNL Office, BSNL Colony, Chilgadi, Narghota, Microwave, Judge's Residence, Officers' Colony, Tea Factory, Police Ground, and adjoining areas. The shutdown has been scheduled to facilitate the replacement of overhead conductors with underground cables.
He further informed that on July 6, power supply will remain affected from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Chadi Road, Cantt Road, Khaniyara Road, Sangam Park, Kotwali Bazaar, and McLeodganj Bypass Road due to the installation of a Ring Main Unit (RMU).
Katoch added that in case of adverse weather conditions, the scheduled maintenance work will be postponed and carried out on the following day. He appealed to residents and consumers in the affected areas to cooperate with the department and plan their activities accordingly during the scheduled power shutdown.
