A film making workshop was organized in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, MDU with the message of giving meaningful social messages through films, highlighting human sensibilities, narrating the story of provincial and national rich heritage and history. Under the aegis of the Student Welfare Department of MDU, in collaboration with Cine Foundation, Haryana and Vishwa Samvad Kendra, the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized this one-day workshop.

Rohtak, February 28, 2025: A film making workshop was organized in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, MDU with the message of giving meaningful social messages through films, highlighting human sensibilities, narrating the story of provincial and national rich heritage and history. Under the aegis of the Student Welfare Department of MDU, in collaboration with Cine Foundation, Haryana and Vishwa Samvad Kendra, the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized this one-day workshop.
Renowned film director, actor Hariom Kaushik, film writer and director Vikas Berwal and Assistant Professor of Kamala Nehru College, Delhi University, Dr. Ravindra Sahu participated in this workshop as expert speakers and resource persons. During this, the poster of Haryana Film Festival 2025 was also launched.
Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Prof. Harish Kumar, while presiding over the workshop, said that cinema is deeply embedded in the minds of the people of India. The reality of life is being depicted beautifully through cinema. He said that cinema is not only a great means of entertainment, but it also makes social values depicted through cinema.
While conducting and coordinating the program, Professor and Director Public Relations Sunit Mukherjee said that we listen to stories since childhood. Films are a powerful audio-visual medium of storytelling. He underlined the importance of films in life.
Expert speaker Dr. Ravindra Sahu gave detailed information about the Haryana Film Festival 2025 to be held on 4-5 April at MDU. Film director Hariom Kaushik highlighted the nuances of filmmaking. He explained in detail about the film story idea. Film writer Vikas Berwal shared the nuances of film script writing and direction. Professor Sunil Mukherjee expressed gratitude. Dr Kavita of Government PG Nehru College, Jhajjar, Dr. Sumit of Lal Nath Hindu College, Rohtak, MDU PRO Pankaj Nain were present in the program. Director Youth Welfare Dr. Pratap Rathi and his team helped in coordinating the workshop. On this occasion, research scholars Ashu, Kuldeep and Vinod Gill helped in organizing the event. Experts also answered the questions of the participants in the workshop. 60 participants participated in this workshop.
