Chandigarh, March 18, 2026: The Department of Library and Information Science at Panjab University, Chandigarh, organised a Poster and Slogan Writing Competition on the theme “Mental Health Awareness.” 

The event was held to raise awareness among students about the importance of mental health and wellness, promotion of mental hygiene and peaceful mind for better overall health. Research scholars and students actively took part in the event. The competition aimed to encourage youth to understand the requirement of mental peace, good mental health and wellness. 

The students of the department took part in the competition and actively wrote slogans and made colorful as well as informative posters. The session was organized under the guidance of Dr. Khuspreet Singh Brar, Chairperson, Department of Library and Information Science and he invited Prof. Simrit Kahlon, Processor, Department of Geography, Panjab University as a guest. She went through all the posters and slogans and took the decision of top 2 posters and 2 slogans out of the participating entities. 

Top 2 posters were 2 groups where 1st position was collectively given to Seetu, Shivani, Somya and Vikram of M.Lib.I.Sc. however, 2nd position was offered to another group M.Lib.I.Sc. students namely, Pallavi, Sushma, Sona Samrah and Maulik Mehra. 

In the slogan writing competition, 1st position was achieved by Mukul (M.Lib.I.Sc.) and Arshpreet Kaur and Nishu (B.Lib.I.Sc.). Somya Singh (M.Lib.I.Sc) and Gurjeewan Singh (B.Lib.I.Sc) stood on 2nd position.
