Belting out blazing chartbusters is a regular fare for this ‘Buzz’-maker! Aastha Gill shot to fame with party anthems and playlist favourites like ‘DJ Wale Babu’ and ‘Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai’, and there has been no looking back for this sassy singer! Basking in the success of her latest collaboration track ‘Shringaar’, Aastha has been steadily making waves across both, Hindi film music and independent music. The ‘Naagin’ and ‘Kamariya’ crooner is MTV Beats Artist of the Month – Catch Aastha Gill spill the beans on her craft, her journey and everything that makes her tick, this July only on MTV Beats!

The uber-talented playback singer has become one of the most-recognised voices in the music arena and has made it to the top in what seems like a blink of an eye. What’s ironic is that the ‘Paani Paani’ singer never intended to make music, leave alone harbour thoughts of this tidal wave of success! But Lady Luck had other plans for Aastha, and the Punjab di Kudi found spectacular acclaim with viral independent songs, Hindi movie soundtracks and much-appreciated collaborations with other contemporary artists as well.

For Aastha, there is nothing greater in life than music. Recalling her DJ Wale Babu days, she said, “This song changed my life and helped me achieve great heights at a very young age. This is a song that gave me an identity and vision.” She goes on to reveal that Saara India, her track from the eponymous album, is close to her heart. She said, “It is such a fun song. I remember that while I was singing this song, I could feel the lyrics. It is because of this song and the love of my listeners that I could travel to various parts of India which has been my lifelong dream.”
