Politicians should start working for people instead of making "political chapatis" alone by issuing statements

According to a report appearing in cityairnews.com on January 26, 2018, IPH Minister Mohinder Singh has stated that the Himachal government is committed to provide fresh and clean drinking water to everyone across the State. He has further stated that the Himachal Pradesh government is also committed to provide sufficient water for irrigation purposes. I think, the minister has expressed laudable views and commitment of the state government to render real service for people of the state. People need fresh and clean drinking water to keep themselves healthy and free from ailments. It is the right time when people must get fresh and clean drinking water instead of consuming polluted and dirty water. 

In his recent statement, the Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jairam Thakur too had made a similar statement announcing to maintain cleanliness and ensuring providing of pure drinking water to people of the state. It may be said here that the minister must have issued the statement following the footsteps of the state's chief minister. But, the time will reveal whether or not the state government is really sincere to people in fulfilling its commitments. 

It has been observed that the statements remain in the air years after years and the things remain unchanged. The Nation got freedom from the Britishers rule in the year 1947. It is 2018 now. Thus, after so many years our politicians are still talking of providing fresh and clean drinking water to everyone. It means everything has not changed over the decades even after Independence. 

The elections are held one after another, leaders come one after another, leaders make statements one after another but the situation remained unchanged. When everyone is aware of the fact that fresh and clean drinking water is need of everyone then why concrete steps have not been taken so far. The predecessor state governments should be held responsible for the present state of affairs. It is high time when our governments should start really thinking and working for people instead of making their political chapatis alone by issuing statements.
