Ludhiana police on Wednesday get clear venue of protest near Jalandhar Bypass by significant number of members belonging to various Dalit organisations staging protest.
Ludhiana, October 23, 2013: City police on Wednesday got cleared venue of protest near Jalandhar Bypass by significant number of members belonging to various Dalit organisations staging protest under the leadership of Ramanjit Singh Lalli and others.
A great inconvenience was being caused to commuters because the protestors were staging the protest for the last two weeks to press upon their demands, including seeking share in the government tenders.
Protestors were removed and rounded up following imposition of Section 144 of the CrPC in the area on orders of Ludhiana deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Harsh Bansal, prohibiting assembly of more than five persons.
Protestors were rounded up for disrupting vehicular traffic on Jalandhar Bypass. www.cityairnews.com
