Police recruitment examination held on March 27 stands cancelled with immediate effect: CM Jai Ram Thakur

Dharamsala/Shimla, May 6, 2022: Himachal Pradesh Police written exam for the recruitment of constables has been cancelled. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has announced the cancellation of written examination due to the possibility of paper leak in Shimla today. The exam was conducted on March 27 this year.

The Chief Minister said, “I want transparency in each recruitment in the state.  The written paper of police recruitment examination which was conducted on March 27, 2022 is hereby cancelled. It is feared that the paper of this exam has been leaked. SIT has been formed to probe the matter. After the completion of the investigation, strict action will be taken against the accused persons.”

He said that the government has instructed the police department to conduct the written examination again at the end of this month.

He said, “An FIR has been registered under Sections 420 and 120-B IPC in Police Station Gaggal of District Kangra.  An investigation in this case would be conducted by a SIT headed by DIG, Central Range, Mandi Madhu Sudhan. Commandant 1st IR Battalion Vimukt Rajan, SP Cyber Crime Rohit Malpani, SP Kangra Kushal Chand Sharma and SP Crime Virender Kalia would be Members of SIT.”

It is added that on 27 March 2022, the written examination of police recruitment was conducted for 1700 posts.
