Anti-Narcotics Cell, Ludhiana arrest Simarjit Singh alias Sam, a resident of Gurpal Nagar, under the NDPS Act.
Ludhiana, February 2, 2014: Anti-Narcotics Cell, Ludhiana has arrested 24-year-old Simarjit Singh alias Sam, a resident of Gurpal Nagar, under the NDPS Act.
Police have seized 40 gm heroin worth Rs.20 lakh in the International market and 168 sedative capsules from his possession. Interestingly, Sam had worked in a Punjabi film and featured in music videos. He was arrested near T-point in the Gurpal Nagar area on Saturday.
According to the Cell’s in-charge sub-inspector Harbans Singh the accused was on his way while driving a motorcycle when apprehended during nakabandi. The accused in the preliminary police interrogation has confessed to have taken to drug peddling to make easy money. He had been working as a clearing agent privately at Dhandhari Dry Port here. Police said the accused used to get the supply of the narcotics from Tarn Taran.
