Chandigarh, September 17, 2026: Senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon along with his wife Priya Tandon on Thursday lit 25 ‘Aashirwad Ke Diye’ to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday.
“Lighting 25 diyas today on our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday is a humble expression of gratitude for his 25 years dedicated service to the nation. Each diya symbolizes his resolve to keep working for the welfare of every section of society,” Tandon said.
He said Modi’s journey from serving as Gujarat Chief Minister to leading the country as Prime Minister had been marked by an emphasis on development, public welfare and service.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has devoted the best years of his life to public service. The spirit of seva has remained central to his journey. On this special occasion, we pray for his long life and continued strength to serve the nation,” Tandon said.
Notably, the 'Aashirwad Ka Diya' - diya lighting campaign was part of the celebrations being organised across the country on September 17 - PM Modi's Birthday. Notably, citizens and beneficiaries of government schemes were urged to light a diya at their homes between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Sep 17. The idea was to solemnly wish for a long life for PM Modi, so that he keeps serving society and continues to work for the dream of 'Viksit Bharat'.
Tandon said the celebrations should also become an occasion for people to reaffirm their own commitment to society.
