Chandigarh, November 7, 2025: To celebrate “National Adoption Month, November-2025” the Department of Life Long Learning & Extension organised a “Pledge taking ceremony” on Friday in the Department.
On this occasion, all the Faculty Members, Research Scholars, Staff and Students of the Department of Life Long Learning and Extension, Panjab University took prescribed Pledge to promote Legal Adoption and Safeguarding of Children with Special Needs at 11:00 a.m. on 07.11.2025.
All the Students, Staff, Research Scholars and Faculty Members take the Pledge. Before taking pledge, Dr. P.S. Kang, Chairperson explained to the participants the existing provisions of law. He told the participants that provisions in this regard were there in the IPC and Hindu Personnel Law and are well described in BNSS also alongwith other parliamentary Act which are mentioned in the pledge itself. He advised the students to spread awareness wherever possible in this regard so that adapted children are not violated in any manner.
