Pledge Ceremony for National Adoption Awareness Month 2025
In accordance with the directions issued by the Union Territory Child Protection Society (UTPCS) under the Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration, a Pledge Taking Ceremony was conducted on Friday at 11:00 AM in University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development (UIFT&VD) by Mandeep Singh (Guest Faculty) under the guidance of Prof. Prabhdip Brar, Chairperson.
Chandigarh, November 7, 2025: In accordance with the directions issued by the Union Territory Child Protection Society (UTPCS) under the Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration, a Pledge Taking Ceremony was conducted on Friday at 11:00 AM in University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development (UIFT&VD) by Mandeep Singh (Guest Faculty) under the guidance of Prof. Prabhdip Brar, Chairperson.
The ceremony was held to inaugurate National Adoption Awareness Month November 2025, with a special emphasis on promoting legal adoption and safeguarding children with special needs, as guided by the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA).
Students and faculty collectively took the pledge, committing themselves to:
- Support ethical and inclusive adoption practices
-Advocate for the rights and needs of children with special needs
-Encourage awareness and dispel myths around adoption
-Stand against discrimination and promote equal opportunities
-Uphold the dignity, respect, and well-being of every child
- Promote lawful adoption under JJ Act 2015, Model Rules 2022, and Adoption Regulation 2022
The ceremony aimed to sensitise students about the importance of giving every child “regardless of ability” a loving, permanent, and nurturing family. The department appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of creating inclusive communities and responsible citizenship.
