Plantation Drive by Department of Zoology, Panjab University to Commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas

Chandigarh, 7 August 2025: The Department of Zoology, Panjab University, in collaboration with the Horticulture Division of the University, today organised a plantation drive to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas while promoting environmental sustainability and awareness.
The Chairperson of the Department, along with faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students, actively participated in the drive, planting a variety of tree saplings. PhD research scholars, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students (B.Sc. and M.Sc.), enthusiastically planted and adopted saplings, taking a collective pledge to nurture them with care. Each sapling stands as a symbol of bravery of the soldiers of Kargil War, symbolizing the spirit of resilience, responsibility, and remembrance.
