Chandigarh October 2, 2025: The Department of Evening Studies – MDRC, Panjab University, Chandigarh, organised a Plant Adoption Drive in the DES-MDRC Lawns, under the theme “Grow Green, Breathe Clean.”
The drive aimed to promote environmental awareness, encourage students to adopt plants, and instill a sense of responsibility towards nature.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished Chief Guests Prof. Amit Chauhan (DSW), Prof. Namita Gupta (DSW Women) and Prof. Naresh Kumar (Assoc. DSW).
The program was convened by Prof. Simran Kaur and Prof. Amandeep, with active coordination and support from faculty and students.
As part of the initiative, students enthusiastically planted and adopted different varieties of plants, symbolising their commitment to nurture and protect the environment.
Prof. Vandna Maini, Chairperson (DES-MDRC), extended a warm welcome and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and faculty members. The Students’ Council Association (SCA 2025–26) also played a key role in the success of the drive.
The event concluded with the collective pledge to safeguard the environment and take forward the green initiative.
