Kapurtha, May 27, 2013: Punjab Institute of Technology (PIT) Mansa constituent institute of PTU Jalandhar result has been shining at 91 percent.
Nineteen out of 21 students from the institution have been given a golden chance to be promoted to B.Tech.
The most important part was that the most of students are from rural area, for whom to secure higher rank in the engineering was impossible. Student from the integrated course of 12th standard Hardeep Singh son of Bhadhur Singh from the Village Khewa District Mansa stood first by securing 75.11 percent, Karandeep Singh son of Sarbjit Singh native of Mansa stood second by securing 73.56 percent and Kulwinder Singh son of Sarbajit Singh native of village Mahan Singh Wala district Ferozepur got third position in the exam.
Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu, Director of PIT Mansa congratulated all the students and their parents’. He expressed happiness on the success of the student’s performance in the field of science which undoubtedly added the feather in the cap of PIT.
At the same time new admission scheme of PIT Mansa 2013-14 has been announced. The admission scheme has been implemented as it was done during last two year academic session. University will run 6 Years Integrated B.Tech course in PIT Mansa. In this course 30 percent of total seats have been reserved for the students who belong to village and study in village’s school. This information has been provided by Academic Dean and PIT Mansa Director Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu.
Considering the fact that the privilege of this scheme should not be taken by any student who is not eligible, the key points of the scheme has been highlighted in the press conference today held by the university.
The last date for filling up the application form for 6 Years B.Tech integrated course has been kept 10th June 2013, and counseling would hold on 14 June 2013. Forms related to admission have been available on the website of PIT Mansa www.pitm.ac.in and in Nehru Memorial College. Due to any reason if any students have been failed to fill the application form, would given a chance to fill it on 14 June 2013 at 10.30 in the morning.
Dr. Buta Singh has also revealed that the students who want to take admission in PIT would be granted exemption from tuition fees those who have passed their 10 th examination from rural areas. He also said that the advantage of this scheme would be benefited to those students whose school fees is equivalent or less than government school and annual income of the family is below 2.50 lacs.
The eligibility for admission is 10th passed. They further added that the students after the first semester would be given the special coaching classes for the specific test. Two years back with assistance of Punjab government PTU has started educational institution under the banner of PIT, in some areas PTU have been given constructed buildings and land.PIT Mansa is the first institution in which government has provided the land but the construction of the building will be done by PTU.
Dr. Buta Singh said that the special facilities and the higher studies available in the PIT Mansa should be avail by maximum students the information is speeded all over the region ,Besides it the information about PIT admission have been provided to neighboring District heads and branches Punjab School Educational Board .
Since 2 years PTU is running PIT course for Mansa at Nehru Memorial College as transit Campus. At the time of inauguration in 2011 for the people of Mansa, Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajneesh Arora initiated this course as a sort of transit campus in Memorial Government College. This programme has being started on the need observed by Punjab government to raise and strengthen the technical Knowledge among rural students.
On this occasion Dr Buta Singh has appealed to grab max benefits out of this course.PIT Mansa in-charge Dr Rajesh Narulla, Dr Rakesh Kumar Assistant professor and PTU Public Relations Officer Rajneesh Sharma were also present.
