PHD CHAMBER and PEDA bat for energy conservation

Ludhiana, February 10, 2013: Acknowledging the fact that India has abundant, untapped renewable energy resources, Dalip Sharma, Regional Director, PHD Chamber said, “Promoting renewable energy development would lead to reducing the energy costs thereby enhancing industry competitiveness by making additional energy available to industry”, while informing that PHD Chamber is organising a one-day conference on ‘Energy Efficiency - Moving towards Greener Future’, and a two- day Energy Efficient Appliances/ Products Expo, 2013 at Ludhiana, jointly with Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA).

Sharma informed that while the conference is being organised for one day only, on February18, the Expo is being organised for two days on February 17-18. Both the events are being organised at Hotel Gulmor, Ludhiana.

The objective of the conference, said Sharma, is to raise awareness and disseminate information on reducing energy costs up to 30% and Greenhouse gas emissions. The event also aims in promoting, up-scaling and mainstreaming renewable energy development to achieve sustainable economic growth while reducing the energy intensity of the economy.
