PGIMS, Rohtak has secured the 26th position among medical colleges across the country in the prestigious India Today-MDRA survey. Meanwhile, the Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences (PGIDS) has ranked fourth among dental colleges nationwide in the same survey.
Rohtak, July 14, 2026: PGIMS, Rohtak has secured the 26th position among medical colleges across the country in the prestigious India Today-MDRA survey. Meanwhile, the Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences (PGIDS) has ranked fourth among dental colleges nationwide in the same survey.
Dr. H.K. Aggarwal, Vice-Chancellor of Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR), expressed happiness over this achievement, stating that this success is not the result of any single individual's effort but the fruit of the hard work of the entire UHSR family. He noted that the doctors, teachers, nurses, staff, and students are dedicated day and night to patient care and education. He added that the goal is for PGIMS to break into the top 20 medical colleges in the country in the next survey, and towards this end, special emphasis is being placed on research, innovation, and world-class facilities.
Director Dr. S.K. Singhal said that the institute received high scores in the survey for academic quality, qualified and experienced faculty, patient care, and comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He affirmed that efforts would continue to elevate the institute to greater heights by increasing the number of research papers, patents, and externally funded projects.
Registrar Dr. Roop Singh mentioned that collecting data from all departments for participation in the survey was a massive undertaking. With the cooperation of all departments and administrative officials, the information was uploaded to the portal on time. Dean Dr. Ashok Chauhan stated that the institute holds the top rank in Haryana due to the excellent education it provides.
Dr. Manu Rathi, Principal of the Dental College, said that the fourth-place national ranking in the field of dentistry is a sign of a bright future for PGIDS. She highlighted that the institute is equipped with modern dental chairs and laboratories and boasts experienced professors to ensure patient convenience.
Dr. Manjunath BC, in-charge of the Public Relations Department, shared details of the survey, explaining that participating institutions are evaluated on eight key parameters: academic excellence and quality of education; faculty strength, qualifications, and experience; research, publications, patents, and innovation; infrastructure, laboratories, libraries, and resources; clinical exposure, patient volume, and practical training; student performance and education; management, leadership, and institutional reputation; and placement and professional standing. He noted that the institute secured the highest scores for its high clinical workload, experienced faculty, comprehensive patient services, and strong academic reputation.
