PGIMS Holds Mental Health Awareness Drive for Elderly

Rohtak, October 3, 2026: The Department of Psychiatry at PGIMS Rohtak organised a mental health awareness programme for senior citizens at Tau Devi Lal Park in Sector 1 on Friday.
Professor Hitesh Khurana, Psychiatric Social Worker Sudha, Occupational Therapist Dr Gautam, and Junior Residents Dr Navneet and Dr Sahil Sharma interacted with the elderly and discussed common mental health concerns associated with ageing.
The experts highlighted issues such as loneliness, sleep problems and stress, urging senior citizens to remain socially active and share their concerns with family members, friends or professionals.
Several senior citizens, including Dr S.P. Chugh, H.B. Arora, Pramod Sharma, J.K. Bagri, Sunil Batra, Gulshan Bajaj and J.C. Khurana, actively participated in the discussion and raised concerns from their daily lives.
The participants appreciated the initiative and urged PGIMS, Rohtak to organise more such community-based mental health programmes for the elderly.
