PGIMS Director inspects OPD and Emergency Department; issues necessary directives

Rohtak, July 8, 2026: Dr. S.K. Singhal, Director of PGIMS, Rohtak, conducted a surprise inspection of the Ch. Ranbir Singh OPD and the Emergency Department on Wednesday, and issued necessary directives.

Director Dr. Singhal directed all staff members to report for duty on time and instructed doctors and paramedical staff to wear their aprons. He also gave strict instructions to ensure the availability of all facilities for patients in the Emergency Department and to maintain an adequate stock of medicines for emergencies.

Dr. Singhal said that PGIMS, Rohtak, possesses adequate quantities of all necessary facilities for patient treatment, including emergency medicines, injections, and other essential medical supplies. During the OPD inspection, he interacted with patients and sought feedback from the doctors and staff.

While inspecting the Emergency Department, Director Dr. Singhal noted that special provisions have been made at PGIMS for the convenience of patients. If the stock of any medicine or item runs low in the emergency unit, it is immediately procured via "local purchase" (up to ₹1 lakh) to ensure availability, thereby eliminating the need for patients to purchase medicines from outside sources.

He also examined the stock registers maintained by the Senior Nursing Officer (SNO) and the pharmacist. Dr. Singhal remarked that PGIMS is Haryana's largest referral center, receiving thousands of patients daily; consequently, a continuous supply of medicines and equipment is ensured.

Meanwhile, Dr. Manjunath, In-charge of the Public Relations Department, reported that patients in the OPD provided positive feedback, stating that they were receiving timely medical advice, diagnostic tests, and medicines, and that the staff's behavior was cooperative.
