PGIMER and Boys Hostels Collaborate to Organise Free Health Camp
A free health camp was organised at Boys Hostel No. 5 under a joint initiative of PGIMER in collaboration with Boys Hostels No. 4, 5, 6, and 7. The camp aimed to promote public health awareness, provide free medical check-ups, and extend healthcare facilities to the local community.

Chandigarh, August 13, 2025: A free health camp was organised at Boys Hostel No. 5 under a joint initiative of PGIMER in collaboration with Boys Hostels No. 4, 5, 6, and 7. The camp aimed to promote public health awareness, provide free medical check-ups, and extend healthcare facilities to the local community.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. Amit Chauhan, DSW, who said, “Health is the true wealth of society. Such initiatives bridge the gap between medical facilities and people in need.”
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bharadwaj Bargai, Warden, Boys Hostel No. 5, stated, “Our goal is to make health services accessible to everyone, especially those who cannot afford regular check-ups.” Dr. Naveen Kumar, Warden, Boys Hostel No. 4, emphasised, “Preventive healthcare is the need of the hour. If we detect health issues early, we can treat them effectively and save lives.”
A team of qualified doctors and healthcare professionals conducted free consultations, diagnostic tests, and distributed necessary medicines at no cost. Special focus was given to general health check-ups, blood pressure and sugar testing, along with awareness sessions on preventive healthcare.
More than 40 beneficiaries attended the camp, making it a noteworthy success. Educational materials on nutrition, hygiene, and lifestyle diseases were also distributed to encourage healthy living.
The camp concluded with expressions of gratitude to all volunteers, medical staff, and participants for their active involvement in this noble cause.
