Kapurthala, December 30, 2013: Punjab Gramin Bank – a pioneer ‘Rural Bank’ of Punjab, is providing various banking services to the people of the area, specifically the rural and outreached people. Bank is presently working on the CBS net work with 229 branches and has already crossed over a total business of Rs. 5658 Crore.
Bank has financed 163740 farmers till date out of which 16870 has financed during this year. Under Financial Inclusion, the Bank till date, has already taken 277614 customers into its fold.

This information was given by Harpal Singh, Field General Manager, Punjab National Bank on his half yearly visit to PGB. FGM PNB has also informed that Bank so far has customer base of 1244569 and is increasing its reach by opening of new branches and through BC Model.
S.K. Goyal, Chairman- PGB has further informed that Bank is committed to achieve its yearly allocated targets and to extend its banking services to the deep situated Service Area Villages and is going to launch kiosk banking solutions very shortly for providing banking services through BC Model. He added that with the implementation of this BC model, the rural customers of the Bank can get benefit of the Govt. DBT Scheme from the BC Location. Sh. Goyal has also appealed to customers to get their Adhaar Cards at the earliest and give these adhaar numbers in their bank accounts for getting benefit of various Govt. Scheme.
