Mumbai (Anil Bedag): Vice-captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, Smriti Mandhana once again won hearts with her inspiring presence beyond the cricket field. During the ‘Play in Comfort’ campaign held at Mena Devi Bajaj International School in Mumbai, Smriti interacted openly with young schoolgirls and female athletes, motivating them to continue participating in sports confidently even during periods.
Organized by Pee Safe, the special initiative aimed to spread awareness about period hygiene, self-care, and encouraging girls to participate in sports without hesitation. The event gave students not only an opportunity to hear inspiring words from Smriti, but also to enjoy playing cricket with her, making it a truly memorable experience.
Speaking at the event, Smriti said that when you wear the Indian jersey, the sense of responsibility becomes so great that even period pain cannot stop you from giving your best. Meanwhile, Ritheesh Kumar, Co-founder of Pee Safe, shared that the campaign’s mission is to create a safe and comfortable environment for young girls where they can focus on their sports and dreams without fear, shame, or hesitation.
