PCTE Ludhiana gets approval to start B. Sc Agriculture from PTU

Ludhiana, May 25, 2018: PCTE has got approval from Punjab Technical University for starting B. Sc Agriculture. Agriculture plays a crucial role in the Indian economy where agriculture sector where 60 per cent of the total population in India contributes around 17-18 percent to the country's GDP.

As not many opportunities are available for the students to gain indepth knowledge apart from PAU in Ludhiana, PCTE has now introduced B. Sc Agriculture to impart knowledge for agricultural sciences and train students in developing expertise in frontier areas of agriculture for sustainable agricultural production.Introducing courses like this will help the students to study in detail about use of modern scientific equipment and techniques in agriculture and will help them to perform better in their farms with better practical training and knowledge.

The course duration is for four years with 60 seats where in PCTE has allocated 15 Acre of experimental farm for research and practical training of the students for grooming them for agri-business and the industry which will increase their demand in the field of agriculture.

Dr. K.N.S Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes said that courses like this widens the reach for the students gain necessary knowledge and practical exposure which will prepare the student for academics, research, and industry.
