PCTE in association with Innovation Mission Punjab organises innovation challenge

Ludhiana, May 11, 2022: PCTE Group of Institutes, Ludhiana in association with Innovation Mission Punjab organized an Innovation Challenge with the aim to find the next big entrepreneur from Punjab. The event reached out to students and working professionals and created a wave of innovation that echoed throughout the state as it saw around 200 teams participating from different schools and colleges out of which 22 were shortlisted.
 
The Innovation Challenge was open to all and saw participants from various schools, colleges & Universities neighboring Ludhiana in Punjab and presented their idea through their elevator pitch video of their idea and business model.
 
A jury of noteworthy individuals evaluated the ideas from the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Punjab. Among the jury members were Mr. Sahil Makkar, Founder of Punjab Angels Network, Mr. Abhay Singhal, founder of TickTalkTo and an alumnus of IIT Bombay, Ms Aanchal Sood, Head Pollinator at Innovation Mission Punjab and Mr. Naresh Aggarwal, Dean Corporate Relations PCTE Group of Institutes.
 
Nidhi Sharma, Aishwariya Sharma, Amanpreet Kaur and Raghav from PCTE, Similarjeet from PCTE, Harasees Singh from Jesus Sacred Heart  and Sukhman Singh from BCM School Basant City were announced as the best ideas were given a cash prize of INR 10,000. The winners could also get the opportunity to get co-incubated.

Talking about the challenge, Aanchal Sood - Lead, Pollinator - IMPunjab, "There is a dearth of opportunities and platforms for students to share their ideas and get candid feedback beyond their ecosystem. This initiative is not only encouraging them to come forward but also giving them the confidence that entrepreneurship can be a great career option.'' 
 
Naresh Saachdev, Dean Corporate Relations, PCTE said “Such events create excitement and energy in the ecosystem and give each and every citizen the opportunity to participate and become an entrepreneur and become a job creator.”
 
Dr KNS Kang, Director General, PCTE congratulated PCTE E Cell for successfully organizing the Ideathon and said that events like these establish entrepreneurial skills in the youth during their education and help the students to explore a lot of new things under one roof.
