Ludhiana, April 2, 2019: The Fashion Design Department of PCTE Group of Institutes organized its conclave with an aim to create a network where the professionals from the industry shared their knowledge and discussed on the topic of “Clothing Technologies that keep Environment Clean”. The motive behind the conclave was to create a platform for learning from the accomplished people of the respective industry. Mr. D Shankar Raman, Senior Vice President, Auro Textiles, Mr. Nailesh G Joshi, Strategic Business Head, VNGL and Ms. Parul Verma, J’adore -The styling Studio graced the occasion with their presences.

Mr. D Shankar Raman discussed how the environment is being affected and polluted by the use of various chemicals and further stated that the industry should use such techniques which will lead less use of chemicals, water and power and discussed how Vardhaman Textile is using such techniques, Mr. Shankar also discussed some eco friendly latest technologies which will be coming in India related to their industry. Mr. Nailesh G Joshi discussed that companies should use organic cotton and further discussed its importance and also discussed the process on how the farmers get the approval for the cultivation of organic cotton, Mr. Nilesh further enlightened the students on how one could get fiber from the recycled material and its importance to the environment. Ms. Parul discussed the topic from the designers’ perspective and discussed how eco friendly techniques can be used in Couture designing, Ms. Parul further suggested the students that natural dying should be used along with good quality fabric for keeping the long life of the garments, along with it she also suggested that the cost could be reduced by using the paper and fabric wisely, leftover fabrics could be used for production of various accessories and garments.

Dr. Rajpreet Chatwal, Head of Department, PCTE Group of Institutes said that the conclave was a great platform for the students to learn a lot of new things under one roof by professionals and further added by saying that events like these help the students to get great exposure in their respective industry.

Dr. K.N.S. Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the Fashion Design department on successfully executing the conclave and said “It’s great to gather people from Industry with common interests and background for the purpose of seeking healthy discussions and their valuable inputs on the current status of the Industry.”
