PCM S.D. College for Women Organizes “Vriksha Raksha Bandhan” to Promote Environmental Consciousness
To inculcate a sense of attachment towards plants and trees, the Eco Club of Prem Chand Markanda S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the P.G. Department of Fashion Designing, organized “Vriksha Raksha Bandhan” on Tuesday.

Jalandhar, August 5, 2025: To inculcate a sense of attachment towards plants and trees, the Eco Club of Prem Chand Markanda S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the P.G. Department of Fashion Designing, organized “Vriksha Raksha Bandhan” on Tuesday.
The event was supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, under the Environment Education Programme through the State Nodal Agency – Punjab State Council for Science and Technology – and CDC, GNDU. The event was conducted under the valuable guidance of Mr. Samarth Sharma, CEO, National EduTrust of India.
In this unique initiative, students enthusiastically tied hand-made rakhis to trees, symbolizing their commitment to protect nature. The activity effectively raised awareness among students about their responsibility towards environmental protection and emphasized the vital role nature plays in our lives.
Dr. Divya Budhia Gupta and Mrs. Shveta Mahajan, In-charges of the Eco Club, were present during the event along with Dr. Jyoti Sharma and Ms. Muskan Kalra, active members of the club. Dr. Jasleen and other faculty members from the P.G. Department of Fashion Designing provided commendable support in organizing the event efficiently.
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the Managing Committee, and the worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar, congratulated the members of the Eco Club and the Department of Fashion Designing for organizing such an inspiring and educational event that fostered love and respect for nature.
