PCM S.D. College for Women Organizes Guest Lecture
On the occasion of Bhartendu Harishchandra Jayanti, the Department of Hindi (B.A. & B.A. B.Ed.) and the Department of T.V. & Video Production of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a guest lecture. The resource person for the event was Dr. Priya Chopra from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Doaba College, Jalandhar.

Jalandhar, August 29, 2025: On the occasion of Bhartendu Harishchandra Jayanti, the Department of Hindi (B.A. & B.A. B.Ed.) and the Department of T.V. & Video Production of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a guest lecture. The resource person for the event was Dr. Priya Chopra from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Doaba College, Jalandhar.
She delivered a special lecture on the topic “Cinema Entrepreneurship: The Role of Women in Film-Making Entrepreneurship.” Through a short film, she conveyed the message that women make commendable contributions behind the screen in the film industry. She highlighted that women can become entrepreneurs in multiple areas of filmmaking such as production, direction, lighting, sound, camera, and scriptwriting. She emphasized that what is required is dedication, perseverance, and hard work, along with the courage to give wings to one’s ideas and imagination.
Around 40 students from B.A., B.A. B.Ed. and T.V. & Video Production participated in this enlightening session.
