PCM S.D. College for Women Organizes Expert on “The Role of NGOs in Nurturing Entrepreneurship and Startups”
On the eve of NGO Day, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Youth Club of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with NGO Divya Drishti, organized an expert session on the topic “The Role of NGOs in Nurturing Entrepreneurship and Startups”.
Jalandhar, February 27, 2026: On the eve of NGO Day, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Youth Club of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with NGO Divya Drishti, organized an expert session on the topic “The Role of NGOs in Nurturing Entrepreneurship and Startups”.
The session featured Parveen Abrol, President of NGO Divya Drishti (Regd.), Jalandhar, as the esteemed resource person. A distinguished social worker and writer, Abrol shared her rich experience in the social sector and elaborated on how NGOs play a pivotal role in encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship among youth. She emphasized that NGOs act as catalysts by offering mentorship, capacity-building programmes, financial guidance, networking opportunities, and skill-based training to aspiring entrepreneurs.
Through practical examples and inspiring success stories, she explained how startups, especially those driven by social responsibility, can create sustainable impact in society. She motivated students to think beyond conventional career paths and explore entrepreneurship as a means of self-reliance and nation-building.
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other esteemed members of the Managing Committee, and the worthy Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar appreciated the collaborative initiative of the IIC and Youth Club. They reiterated the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit among students, preparing them to emerge as confident, socially responsible, and self-sustained professionals.
