PCM S.D. College for Women Organises One-Day Eye Check-Up Camp on the Occasion of National Girl Child Day 2026
The NSS Unit of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, under the guidance of the IQAC, organised a One-Day Eye Check-Up Camp in collaboration with Thind Eye Hospital on the occasion of National Girl Child Day 2026. The camp was organised with the objective of creating awareness about eye health, promoting preventive eye care, and contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
Jalandhar, January 24, 2026: The NSS Unit of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, under the guidance of the IQAC, organised a One-Day Eye Check-Up Camp in collaboration with Thind Eye Hospital on the occasion of National Girl Child Day 2026. The camp was organised with the objective of creating awareness about eye health, promoting preventive eye care, and contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
Under the leadership of Cluster Head Pardeep Singh, the eye care camp was conducted by Thind Eye Hospital, with Dr. Anisha Bhasin and her dedicated team of doctors and paramedical staff. Comprehensive eye examinations were carried out, and participants were sensitised about proper eye care and the prevention of vision-related problems. On this occasion, Dr. Kulwinder, A.P. Singh, Gurwinder, and Savita Ji were also present.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation of around 200 beneficiaries, including students, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and local residents from the surrounding community. The initiative proved highly beneficial in spreading awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups and the early detection of eye-related ailments.
The NSS volunteers and student representatives of the Central Association played an active role in the smooth conduct of the camp by assisting the medical team and ensuring proper coordination throughout the activity. The camp reflected the college’s strong commitment to community outreach and social responsibility, highlighting the importance of health-oriented initiatives for societal well-being.
The Organising Committee for the successful conduct of the camp comprised IQAC In-charge Captain Priya Mahajan and NSS Programme Officers Manmeet Kaur, Sunita Bhalla, Gurjit Kaur, and Akwinder Kaur, whose dedicated efforts contributed significantly to the effective execution of the activity.
