PCM SD College for Women holds ‘Sanskrit Sammelan’ to commemorate ‘Sanskrit Saptah’

Jalandhar, September 1, 2023: PCM SD College for Women held ‘Sanskrit Sammelan’. It was an attempt to revive our cultural legacy of one of the richest languages of the world. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. After which a vedic mantra was chanted by Guru Virjanand Gurukul Kartarpur and followed by a welcome song by the students of department of Sanskrit.of SD College. 

The guests were accorded a formal welcome by Principal Prof.(Dr.) Pooja Prashar. After which Dr Udyan Arya, principal of Guru Virjanand Gurukul Kartarpur  and organiser of the event addressed the audience. He expressed his gratitude towards the institution for organising the event to commemorate ‘Sanskrit Divas’. Shri Sudhir Sharma, a renowned businessman and a philanthropist, was the chief guest of the day. He is held in good stead because of his dedication towards the needy and underprivileged populace for he invests his money into noble causes. Shri Narendra (North Regional Organisation secretary Of Sanskrit Bharti) was the Keynote 

Speaker of the session. He emphasised the need of tracing back to our linguistic roots of Sanskrit. One must chant ‘Gayatri Mantra’ to ameliorate one’s existence. He also held that the world is one family as is expounded in the notion ‘Vasudev Katumbkam’ and we ought to realise our responsibility towards this family. He held that language Sanskrit has been accorded the status of Second State language in the year 2023 in the State of Himachal Pradesh owing to the tireless efforts of ‘Sankrit Shastri’ across the globe. Shri Nidhi Kapoor from ‘Arya Samaj Sanstha’ was the ‘’ guest. Of honour She too highlighted the relevance of chanting mantras that could be life transforming for humanity. She said that she encourages her children to chant these elaborate mantras so that they cling to their roots. She was accompanied by Aarti Kapoor from the same organisation. 

Sarvesh Chadhha, Sanskrit Bharti Jalandhar Incharge and an industrialist also witnessed the event. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Udyan. He mentioned that the programme was indeed a testament to the enduring legacy of Sanskrit and its relevance in today’s world. The session left the attendees inspired and hopeful for a future where this ancient language continues to flourish. 

President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Prof.(Dr.) Pooja Prashar applauded the endeavours of the department for the successful culmination of the event.
