PCM S.D. College for Women Celebrates “Teeyan Da Mela” with Traditional Zeal and Cultural Splendour

Jalandhar, August 14, 2026: The Youth Club in collaboration with the Department of Punjabi of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, organized “Teeyan Da Mela” to celebrate the vibrant traditions of Punjab and foster cultural awareness among students.
The college campus turned into a hub of joy and festivity as students and staff participated enthusiastically in various cultural activities. Principal Dr Pooja Prashar graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and appreciated the efforts of the organizing departments for promoting cultural heritage through such meaningful celebrations.
The traditional Kikli was the highlight of the day, symbolizing unity and joy among participants. A beautifully decorated swing was set up to recreate the nostalgic charm of Teej, a festival that celebrates love, reunion, and monsoon joy, especially among newly-wedded women visiting their parental homes.
Adding to the festive spirit were stalls of mehndi, bangles, nail art, and traditional Punjabi delicacies. Different eatable stalls also added flavour to the celebration, attracting enthusiastic participation from students and staff and enhancing the overall festive atmosphere.
