PCM S.D. College for Women Celebrates Lohri Dhiaan Di with Traditional Spirit

The celebration highlighted the cultural significance of Lohri, the popular harvest festival of Punjab, which marks the end of winter and the onset of longer days, symbolizing prosperity, joy, and togetherness.

Jalandhar, January 13, 2026: The Youth Club, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club and the Women Empowerment Cell of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated Lohri Dhiaan Di with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour on the college campus. The celebration highlighted the cultural significance of Lohri, the popular harvest festival of Punjab, which marks the end of winter and the onset of longer days, symbolizing prosperity, joy, and togetherness.
The occasion was graced by the Principal, Dr. Pooja Prashar, who presided over the function as the Chief Guest. Students, teaching faculty, and supporting staff participated wholeheartedly in the celebrations. The campus echoed with festive cheer as students sang traditional boliyan and participated in cultural activities, beautifully showcasing the rich folk heritage of Punjab.
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other honourable members of the Managing Committee and the Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar congratulated the concerned departments and the event in-charges, Dr. Neena Mittal and Kawaljit Kaur, for the successful organization of the programme.
