Pawan Dewan writes letter to CM Channi regarding poor condition of roads in Ludhiana
PLIDB Chairman Pawan Dewan.

Ludhiana, October 30, 2021: Punjab Large Industrial Development Board Chairman Pawan Dewan has written a letter to Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi regarding the poor condition of roads in the city. He also mentioned the accidents that take place on the roads these days.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Dewan said that he wanted to draw the attention to the poor condition of roads in Ludhiana due to the negligence of the Municipal Corporation. He said that the situation of local government in the largest city of the state in terms of population is so bad that even the road constructed a few days back is crumbling.Recently, a brother and sister were injured, when they fell into a ditch caused by a landslide in Deep Nagar. A few days ago, a truck got stuck in a road collapse in Model Town Extension. However, due to his low speed, a major accident was avoided.
However, the road near Ishmit Chowk, which was constructed a few days back, has started collapsing and due to the concrete coming out of it, the vehicle slips when the brakes are applied. In many parts of the city, the condition of the roads is even worse, which has begun to deteriorate after a little rain.
These roads have not only become a threat to the lives and property of the people, but are also witnessing the use of substandard materials.
In these circumstances, you are requested to conduct a high level enquiry into the irregularities being used in the construction of roads, whether the agency constructing the road is government or private, what level of material is being used and the quality of the road.Similarly, the term of the road should be fixed and the board of the agency constructing it should also be placed on the road.
Dewan said that not only the roads ,but also the street lights were being used by the officers on a large scale. In many areas, streetlights have not been on for days. Due to which people are facing huge difficulties. There are even complaints regarding installation of old tiles in Shastri Nagar area.
In view of such circumstances,he has requested the CM to conduct a high level inquiry into the matter and take stern action against the officers found guilty, as such irregularities are not possible without the connivance of high level officers. This is causing huge damage to government revenue and tarnishing the image of the government.
