PAU STUDENTS BRING LAURELS AT 17TH ALL INDIA SPORTS MEET

Ludhiana, march 31, 2017: The students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) participated in 17th All India Inter Agricultural University Games and Sports Meet 2016-17, and emerged as winners in Basketball (Men and Women). They also bagged the runners up position in Badminton (Men), Volleyball (Men) and Athletics (Men). In addition, the students won seven medals in athletics i.e. four Gold Medals (Shot Put, Discus Throw, High Jump and 110M Hurdles in Men Section) and three Silver Medals (400M, 800M and 1500M in Women Section). The contingent also won overall trophy in Team Games (Men). As many as 40 students accompanied by three officials participated in the meet, organized at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar from March 25-29, 2017.

The contingent was given a warm welcome by Dr (Mrs) Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Director Students’ Welfare, PAU, on their arrival at Ludhiana. She congratulated the students for winning positions in the sports meet. She attributed their success to their hardwork and untiring efforts, and encouraged them to do well in academics also. Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU also congratulated the contingent.
