Ludhiana, July 29, 2019: Jyoti Verma, a Ph.D research scholar, Department of Floriculture and Landscaping, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been awarded Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), GoI.
The fellowship has been given to pursue research on “Assessment of Ornamental Roadside Trees for their Air Pollution Tolerance Index and Leaf Associated Microbes” under the guidance of Dr Parminder Singh, Associate Professor of Floriculture.
The INSPIRE fellowship is a postgraduate scholarship offered to the first ranker of a University in basic and applied science courses. The fellowship consists of Rs 31,000 plus 4,000 HRA per month with a contingent grant of Rs 20,000 per annum.
The Vice-Chancellor Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon; Dean, Postgraduate Studies Dr GK Sangha; Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry Dr MIS Gill; and Head, Department of Floriculture and Landscaping Dr KK Dhatt congratulated the student for this achievement and wished her bright career ahead.
