PAU STUDENT AWARDED INSPIRE FELLOWSHIP

Ludhiana, July 18, 2023: Kalp Das, a Ph.D. research scholar, Department of Vegetable Science, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has brought laurels to the University by achieving the prestigious Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Fellowship from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, for his Ph.D. research. He will be carrying out research on the topic “Introgression of CMS into elite genotypes of carrot (DaucusCarota l.) using molecular markers and development of hybrids with enhanced nutraceutical properties for nutritional security” under the guidance of Dr Tarsem Singh Dhillon, Principal Vegetable Breeder-cum-Head Department of Vegetable Science, PAU. The INSPIRE fellowship is a postgraduate scholarship offered to the first ranker of the University in the basic and applied science courses. The fellowship consists of Rs 31,000 plus 4,000 HRA per month with a contingent grant of Rs 20,000 per annum.
