PAU SCIENTISTS DOMINATE 52nd ANNUAL CONVENTION OF ISAE AWARDS

Ludhiana, January 16, 2018: The agricultural engineers of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) bagged maximum awards during the 52ndAnnual Convention of Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE) and National Symposium on “Doubling Farmers Income through Technological Interventions,” held at Anand Agricultural University, Anand (Gujarat), from January 8-10, 2018. Mr Parshottam Khodabhai Rupala, Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, was the chief guest and presented these awards to the PAU agri-engineers during the convention.

Dr Harminder Singh Sidhu, Senior Research Engineer, Borlaug Institute for South Asia, and Dr Anoop Kumar Dixit, Senior Research Engineer, Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, were awarded ISAE Fellow for the year 2017. Dr Mohammed Shafiq Alam, Senior Research Engineer, Department of Processing and Food Engineering, got “ISAE Commendation Medal Award 2017.” In addition, Er Nandlal Kushwaha and Dr Anil Bhardwaj, Department of Soil and Water Engineering, bagged “JAE Best Paper Award” for their research paper entitled “Remote Sensing and GIS Based Morphometer Analysis for Micro-Watershed Prioritization in Takal - Ballowal Watershed,” published in the Journal of Agricultural Engineering in 2017. Er Manvendra Bhardwaj and Er Rajesh Soni, Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, were awarded “Best Poster Paper Award” for their research paper entitled “Cyclone Gasifiers - A Review.” Dr Gursahib Singh Manes, Dr Anoop Kumar Dixit, Er Arshdeep Singh, Er Aseem Verma and Er Abhishek Bhardwaj, Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, were awarded “Best Poster Paper Award” for their research paper entitled “Development and Evaluation of Tractor Operated Loose Straw Chopper for Paddy Straw Management.”

Dr B.S. Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, and Dr J.S. Mahal, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, congratulated the agricultural engineers for dominating and winning maximum awards during the convention.
