PAU organised camp on promotion of newly recommended varieties
2024: The Department of Extension Education, under the aegis of Dean, College of Agriculture, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana organized a camp on Tuesday at village Pabbian, Jagraon block of Ludhiana district in which about 40 farmers participated.
Ludhiana, September 10, 2024: The Department of Extension Education, under the aegis of Dean, College of Agriculture, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana organized a camp on Tuesday at village Pabbian, Jagraon block of Ludhiana district in which about 40 farmers participated.
Dr. Lakhwinder Kaur while welcoming the farmers informed them about newly released varieties i.e. PBW Biscuit 1 (Wheat), OL17 (Fodder), PHR 127(Raya Hybrid),PGSH 2155(Canola-Gobhi sarson Hybrid). She also advised the farmers for growing Kitchen gardening for nutritional security. She also invited farmers to visit Kisan Mela which will be held on September 13-14 at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.
The students of Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) program had coordinated the training camp and students viz. Krish Arora, Dipanshu, James Jatin and Raman Dhillon delivered a brief lecture on management and safe handling of agro-chemicals and integrated pest management (IPM) in paddy.
Jagdeep Singh proposed a vote of thanks and shared his thoughts on conservation of natural resources and sustainable agriculture.
Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Head of the Department of Extension Education, commended the students for their successful planning and execution of the programs. At this programme, Gurjinder Singh, Secretary of Cooperative society was also present.
