PAU gives warm send off to its two officials

Ludhiana, March 2, 2015: The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) gave a warm send off to its two officials, Dr Jasvinder Kaur Sangha, Dean, College of Home Science and Dr Jarnail Singh, Librarian, MS Randhawa Library, on their superannuation.

Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU said that Dr Sangha has contributed remarkably towards teaching, research and extension in the discipline of food and nutrition during her 33 years of service. He also lauded 29 years of dedicated service of Dr Singh towards food engineering, processing and agricultural structures.

The senior officials of PAU wished the two officers a healthy and prosperous post-retirement life.

It may be mentioned that Dr Sangha has worked on various capacities at PAU such as Coordinator of Research (Home Science); Head of Food and Nutrition Department; Additional Director of Research (Food Science, Nutrition and Engineering) and University Librarian. By virtue of rich professional experience, she has contributed towards sustaining quality of education and strengthening research. She has worked on community nutritional problems, nutritional availability of micronutrients, development of value added products for nutritional and health benefits, and empowerment of rural women. She is a recipient of several awards and honours.

Dr Singh has served as Head, Department of Processing and Food Engineering at PAU. Besides, he has worked on post-harvest technology of cereal, pulses and oilseeds; processing of fruits and vegetables, value addition of agricultural produce, and agricultural by-product utilization. In addition, he has acquired trainings in India and abroad, has membership of scientific and professional societies, and is a recipient of various awards and honours.
