PAU directed documentary film adjudged best at Hyderabad Film Festival

A PAU-directed documentary film on “Integrated Farming System” has been adjudged as the best language film in Punjabi at the Agri-Film Festival, held at the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad. The award, carrying an Appreciation Certificate, citation and a cash price of Rs 10,000, was presented by Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, New Delhi, to Dr Anil Sharma, Deputy Director (TV/radio), Communication Centre, Directorate of Extension Education, PAU.

Ludhiana, February 27, 2024: A PAU-directed documentary film on “Integrated Farming System” has been adjudged as the best language film in Punjabi at the Agri-Film Festival, held at the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad. The award, carrying an Appreciation Certificate, citation and a cash price of Rs 10,000, was presented by Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, New Delhi, to Dr Anil Sharma, Deputy Director (TV/radio), Communication Centre, Directorate of Extension Education, PAU.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr MS Bhullar, Director of Extension Education; and Dr TS Riar, Additional Director Communication, congratulated Dr Sharma for this achievement and exhorted him to continue with his dedicated efforts for the welfare of the farmers.

Kidwai observed that such types of films played a significant role in the promotion of science and technology as well as dissemination of technologies among the farmers.

Dr Sharma informed that out of 407 entries, PAU directed film was adjudged as the best. Besides, nearly 900 documentary films have been directed by PAU and are uploaded on Facebook as well as YouTube from time to time to educate farmers about the latest advancements in agriculture.

Also present at the award ceremony were Dr P Chandra Shekara, Director General, MANAGE; Dr A Srinivasacharyulu, Deputy Director (KM); and Dr Saravanan Raj, Director (Extension), MANAGE.
