PAU conducts training course for officials of Godrej Agrovet

Ludhiana, April 24, 2018: The Directorate of Extension Education of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) conducted a training course on “Improved Agronomic Practices for Successful Cultivation of Paddy and Cotton” for the officials of Godrej Agrovet.

The course was held under the guidance of Dr J.S.Mahal, Director of Extension Education, and a total of 23 officials participated in it. The experts of PAU namely Dr S.S.Minhas, Dr Buta Singh and Dr K.S.Suri gave useful tips for successful cultivation of paddy, its physiology and control measures for its insect-pest management, respectively.

Experts comprising Dr J.S.Deol, Dr R.S.Sarlach and Dr Vijay Kumar dwelt on successful cotton cultivation, its physiology and management measures for its insect-pest management, respectively.

Dr C.S.Aulakh apprised the trainees of organic farming while Dr S.S.Dhaliwal informed about nutrient management in soils.

Dr Varinderpal Singh, an expert, talked about use of leaf colour chart in paddy.

Earlier, Dr T.S. Riar, Course Coordinator, welcomed the participants and highlighted the course details, whereas later, Dr Rupinder Kaur, Course Coordinator, while proposing a vote of thanks, shared extension activities.
