PAU Alumna Gets Canadian-Research Manitoba Postdoctoral Fellowship

Ludhiana, October 14, 2025: Dr Manpreet Kaur, a PAU alumna and Ph.D. graduate from the Department of Biochemistry, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has been awarded the prestigious Research Manitoba Postdoctoral Fellowship (worth $60,000 CAD) for the project titled, “Utilizing Modified Protein Complexes from Manitoba Crops as Green Emulsifiers for Sustainable Emulsion Stabilization, Oxidation Prevention, and Extended Shelf Life.” She completed her Ph.D. in 2024 under the supervision of Dr Surekha Bhatia, Department of Processing and Food Engineering. Currently, she is working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada, in the Food Proteins and Bioproducts Laboratory under the mentorship of Dr Nandika Bandara.
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr Kiran Bains, Dean of COBSH; and Dr Manjeet Kaur Sangha, Head, Department of Biochemistry, congratulated Dr Manpreet for this recognition, which supports research contributing toward a sustainable food future.
Dr Manpreet Kaur expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr Sangha, Dr Bandara, Dr Bhatia and PAU faculty for their invaluable guidance and mentorship as well as constant guidance and support throughout her academic journey. She also expressed thankfulness to Dr Diljeet Brar, former PAU Professor and now MLA in the Manitoba Legislative Assembly, for his appreciation and continued encouragement.
