Parmar criticizes Congress for one year in power and unfulfilled promises

Dharamsala, December 9, 2023: BJP MLA from Kangra's Sulh Assembly constituency and former Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Vipin Singh Parmar, criticised the Congress for what he deemed as false promises made during the elections. Parmar claimed that even after completing one year in power, the Congress government has not fulfilled a single guarantee, yet it plans to celebrate its one-year tenure on December 11 in Dharamsala.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Kangra-Chamba BJP in-charge Vipin Singh Parmar said that instead of celebrating, the Congress government should be regretful for not being able to fulfill any guarantees made during the assembly elections. Parmar expressed concern that the people of the state, who have not yet recovered from the natural disasters caused by the rainy season, are witnessing the Congress government engage in celebrations. He highlighted the irony of the government claiming an empty treasury while spending crores of rupees on celebrations.

Parmar found it surprising that the Congress government chose to celebrate in the same district that, according to him, has faced the most discrimination over the past year. By organizing the celebration program at the Kangra district headquarters in Dharamshala, he accused the Congress government of exacerbating the wounds of discrimination faced by the people of Kangra.

Describing Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu's government as a failure on every front, Parmar asserted that industries have stopped coming to Himachal Pradesh since the Congress government came to power. In contrast, he claimed that the BJP government had made significant efforts to attract industrialists during its tenure.
