`Parivartan Yatra’ Launched in Dehra Police District to Curb Drug Abuse and Promote Legal Awareness

In a significant initiative to raise awareness about traffic rules and the menace of drug abuse among school students, the Dehra Police District in Kangra has launched a week-long campaign titled ‘Parivartan Yatra’. The campaign is being conducted in 15 schools adopted by the Dehra police under the Kanun Vidyalaya initiative from June 23 to June 26, 2025.

Dharamshala, June 23, 2025: In a significant initiative to raise awareness about traffic rules and the menace of drug abuse among school students, the Dehra Police District in Kangra has launched a week-long campaign titled ‘Parivartan Yatra’. The campaign is being conducted in 15 schools adopted by the Dehra police under the Kanun Vidyalaya initiative from June 23 to June 26, 2025.

Superintendent of Police Dehra informed the media that the campaign has been launched as per the directives of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

The detailed schedule of the campaign was also released through a press note is

June 23: Police officers will visit all 15 adopted schools to educate students about traffic safety and the harmful effects of drug abuse.

June 24: Painting and Speech Competitions will be held for students of Classes 10, 11, and 12 on the theme of drug abuse. Meritorious students will be felicitated.

June 25: A ‘Parivartan Yatra’ rally will be taken out by students at 11 AM from locations identified by the district police in various police station areas. The rally will see participation from local administrative officials, Panchayat members, Mahila Mandals, and Vyapar Mandals. On this day, outstanding students from Classes 10 and 12 will be declared Youth Brand Ambassadors of Police District Dehra.

June 26 (International Day Against Drug Abuse): A friendly cricket match will be organized at 7 AM between the district police and local administration as part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign.

The SP emphasized that the initiative is aimed at encouraging youth to become responsible citizens and play an active role in building a drug-free society.
