Ludhiana, January 19, 2026: Parampal Singh Bawa, Chairman, Excise & Taxation, Punjab, visited the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) for an industrial interaction, appreciating CICU’s proactive role in strengthening Punjab’s MSME ecosystem.
During his visit, he interacted with industry members, acknowledging the growing capabilities, quality orientation and competitiveness of Punjab-based industries, and noted that the state’s MSMEs are increasingly aligning with national supply chain requirements.
Addressing the gathering, Bawa emphasised the importance of ease of doing business, tax awareness and transparent systems. He stated that a collaborative and facilitative approach between the Excise & Taxation Department and industry is essential for sustainable economic growth. He assured industry members of the department’s commitment to clarity, transparency and simplified procedures, enabling entrepreneurs to focus on expansion and innovation, and remarked that Punjab’s industrial community has demonstrated resilience, adaptability and a strong commitment to compliance-driven growth.
Bawa appreciated CICU’s continuous efforts in guiding MSMEs on regulatory compliance, digitalization and best practices, while also creating platforms for meaningful dialogue between industry and government. He particularly acknowledged the leadership of CICU President Upkar Singh Ahuja and the collective efforts of the entire CICU team in organizing regular industry interactions, advisory initiatives and capacity-building programmers that empower entrepreneurs.
