Chandigarh, October 13, 2023: The Department of Public Administration organized a Paper Reading Contest on the theme of Disaster Management to celebrate International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2023. In 1989, UN General Assembly designated 13th October as the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction to promote a global culture in this regard. The theme of this day for 2023 is - Fighting Inequality for a Resilient Future. In light of the increasing frequency and severity of natural and man-made disasters, this day was celebrated to raise awareness and knowledge about disaster management strategies. Many students participated and delved into this important subject, learnt about effective disaster management techniques, and shared their insights with the fellow student community.

Nitish Kumar, Riddhi and Vidhi won first, second and third prize respectively. The programme was attended by research scholars, students and faculty of the Department. Dr. Bharati Garg, Chairperson of the Department congratulated the prize winners and participants and encouraged active participation in curricular activities.
