Panjab University’s UIPS Celebrates Annual Function; Family of Late Prof. R.L. Gupta Donates Rs. 10 Lakh

Chandigarh, May 7, 2026: University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University (PU) organised it's Annual Function. The event was attended by students, faculty members, alumni, and distinguished guests in attendance.
Dr. Manish Kapoor, State Drugs Controller, Himachal Pradesh was the Chief Guest. The event commenced with distribution of prizes and recognition of meritorious students for their academic achievements.
The department recognised various scholarships instituted by alumni settled in India and abroad. Scholarship cheques were also awarded to topper students as per the prescribed guidelines.
A major highlight of the event was presence of family members of late Prof. R.L. Gupta, who donated a cheque of Rs. 10 lakh to UIPS in support of academic development and student welfare.
Addressing the gathering, the Chairperson Prof. Anil Kumar and the Chief Guest Dr. Kapoor appreciated the academic accomplishments of UIPS and encouraged students to pursue excellence in their professional careers.
The function concludes with dinner hosted at the UIPS lawns.
