Chandigarh, December 31, 2025: On the occasion of the New Year 2026, the Panjab University (PU) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Renu Vig, has extended warm greetings and best wishes to PU faculty members, non-teaching staff and students.

 

Describing the faculty members, non-teaching staff and students as the three pillars that collectively define the soul, strength and success of the University, Prof. Vig said that the year 2025 was marked by purposeful engagement, academic momentum and collective resilience. PU has advanced the frontiers of knowledge, strengthened institutional systems, nurtured innovation and reaffirmed its commitment to excellence, inclusivity and social responsibility, and the credit for this goes to shared vision and teamwork, she added.

 

Appreciating the contribution of all stakeholders in the progress of the University, Prof. Vig stated that the faculty inspired through scholarship, mentorship and thought leadership, while the non-teaching staff ensured efficiency, continuity and institutional harmony. She also acknowledged the role of students, noting that their inquisitive and socially conscious outlook has carried forward the legacy of the University with confidence and distinction, both within and beyond the campus.

 

Welcoming the New Year, Prof. Vig called upon the University fraternity to renew its resolve to foster an environment that values academic integrity, innovation, compassion and collaboration. She added that 2026 offers new opportunities to strengthen teaching-learning processes, expand research horizons, deepen community engagement and align academic pursuits with national aspirations and global challenges.

 

Expressing confidence in the collective strength of the institution, Prof. Vig said that with unity of purpose and commitment to shared values, Panjab University will continue to scale new heights and remain a beacon of knowledge, leadership and service.
